my school is semestered so that 2 semesters for the whole year and 4 periods for each semester. In grade 11 and 12, you don’t have to fill up all schedules but to graduate you MUST have 30 credits and 40 community hours AND pass the literacy test.

Sounds like ours, except only seniors can have free periods, and instead of service we have a graduation project (8-10 page paper and 15 hours, 8 of which must be with a mentor). And we don’t have a literacy test, hence all the people graduating.

kinda like my school :) we have 2 core classes and 2 electives each semester (unless something is needed to graduate) but i think we do have to have a full schedule junior year… not sure though
